THE NARRATIVE

Bringing Change

OUR HOME

In Pittsburgh, poverty rates are astonishingly high. More than 1 out of every 5 residents, or 22% of Pittsburgh residents live in poverty. While Pittsburgh has certainly seen a boom in its medicine and technology industries, not everyone has been fortunate enough to reap the benefits of a quickly modernizing city.
At the GPCA, we believe that it is our responsibility to help our Pittsburgh neighbors as Pittsburgh residents, but moreover as human beings. This is why the GPCA Board of Directors has devised a plan to work with local businesses in Pittsburgh as well as city-based corporations to allocate funds to those impoverished in our city and region.

WHAT WE'RE DOING TO PROVIDE HOPE

Fortunately, the future is bright for these people as many Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and other non-profits provide relief. However, funding for these groups is not unlimited.
And this is where the GPCA comes in...
We charge $25.00 in fees that goes to charities in the Western Pennsylvania region to provide for those in need. By being a part of the GPCA, we will be able to assist those in need in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. We know the Greater Pittsburgh Cricket Association will be a great way to show that Pittsburgh students care about people all over the world.
