WHO WE ARE
The GPCA was created for a variety of reasons, Here's a brief overview:
A mechanism from which cricket can spread across the United States to a different demographic
As a primarily Asian and male dominated sport in the status quo, we hope to change this by providing equal opportunity and inclusion for everyone.
An alternate method of physical activity
In the US, Obesity is at an all time high, we hope to provide another fun, yet useful way to get exercise
To give back.
Observing the high poverty levels in our very own backyard as well as the especially dastardly economic consequences produced by COVID-19, the GPCA board decided to take action.
Ultimately, we hope that players follow their passions doing something they love most while knowing that their participation is working towards a greater cause. Find out more on the Our Mission Page!
ACTIVITIES
Bringing Change
CRICKET OUTREACH
With this initiative, our goal is to expand cricket across the Greater Pittsburgh Area. With the funds raised, we'll be donating money to assist charities that work with inner city athletic programs. Additionally, as our base expands, we will incorporate camps for younger children with a heavy emphasis on underrepresented and minority youth.
WHY WE'RE DOING THIS
All of us on the GPCA board were motivated to give younger aspiring cricketers the opportunity we never had: a proper league. At the GPCA, we work hard to create an environment that is welcoming to all different skill sets, no matter where they come from. Along the way, our organization is giving back to the community that gave us everything, and you can be a part of that too.
“All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.”
